David Chapman is principal-in-charge of the CFO-Led Services group in the Boston, Providence and Portland offices within the Firm’s Financial Accounting & Advisory Services practice.

He has more than 25 years of industry experience advising clients in accelerating growth and maximizing financial performance in a wide spectrum of business sectors, including Saas, fintech, insuretech, card-linked offer, software, professional services, and manufacturing.

David’s areas of expertise include: business strategy, fundraising, corporate finance, treasury management, strategic planning, financial modeling and forecasting, deal evaluation, executive coaching, and IPOs & SEC compliance. In prior interim CFO roles and throughout his career, David has raised in excess of $200M in capital through debt and equity transactions for VC-backed and early-stage companies. As chief financial officer, he has also managed numerous M&A sell-side and buy-side transactions, including the sale of a mobile technology company for $250 million.

David joined Marcum in 2021 through the merger of a firm he founded and which featured a team of experienced CFO’s, controllers, and bookkeepers providing startups and small businesses with strategic, fractional CFO and outsourced accounting services.
