About Sam
Sam Saunders is a director in the Firm’s National Private Client Services practice and specializes in providing tax planning and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational wealthy families, family offices, corporate executives, and closely held business owners. He has over a decade of experience advising clients on complex wealth transfer strategies, business succession planning, and general financial planning; as well as estate, trust, gift, generation-skipping, and individual tax compliance services.
After receiving his Master’s in Accounting, Sam earned his law degree where he concentrated in estate planning, taxation, bankruptcy, and business law. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked at a top 25 accounting firm where he took a major role in building their estate, gift, and trust specialty tax practice and served as a technical specialist firmwide in that area. He also enjoys speaking and teaching on topics related to income, trust, estate, gift, and generation skipping taxation.
Overall, Sam is dedicated to assisting clients with developing and reviewing current financial and estate plans already in place in order to minimize their exposure to income and transfer taxes (estate, gift, and generation skipping transfers), while trying to maximize flexibility based on each client’s particular situation and goals.
